A house on the Seacoast collects a very specific kind of film. Salt carries inland off the harbor and the ocean and dries into a haze that ordinary glass cleaner just smears around. Pine and oak pollen sheets the south-facing glass every spring. Sprinklers throw mineral-heavy well water at the same three windows all summer. By the time you notice it, you are not looking through the window so much as at it.
The base clean is the glass: both sides of every pane, hand-detailed to the edge, frames wiped, every storey reached, floors protected. Everything beyond the glass — screens, tracks, storm panels, skylights, mineral stain removal — is quoted on top, so you are not paying for screens you did not want done. Most homes here add screens and tracks in spring and take the glass on its own in autumn.

What is included in the price, and what costs extra?
The base price covers the glass — interior and exterior, hand-detailed edge to edge, frames wiped, every storey reached, floors protected. Screens, sills and tracks, storm panels, skylights, and hard water stain removal are add-ons quoted on top. You pick what you want and the estimate shows each line, so nothing appears on the invoice that was not agreed before we started.
How much does residential window cleaning cost in Portsmouth?
The glass is priced on pane count, window style, and number of stories — not a flat per-window rate that penalizes you for having small divided lights. How often should I have my windows cleaned?
Twice a year suits most homes here — once in late spring after the pollen drops, once in fall before the weather closes in. Homes within a mile or so of the water, or with heavy tree cover, usually want a third visit. Rentals and homes going on the market are their own case.
Do you clean the inside of the windows too?
Yes. Interior glass is included on standard residential jobs. We use drop cloths, work in shoe covers, and move what needs moving — then put it back.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
For exterior-only work, no. If we are cleaning interiors, someone needs to let us in, but you do not have to follow us around. Plenty of our customers hand us a key and go to work.
What about second and third story windows?
We reach them. Ladder work and water-fed pole systems both have their place, and we pick the one that is safe for the building and the person doing it.
