Screens, tracks, and gates
Clean glass behind a grey screen still looks grey. Quoted separately from the glass, so you add it on the visits where it matters and skip it on the ones where it does not.
A window screen is a dust filter you never change. It holds pollen, road grit, cobwebs, and a fine grey film that cuts visible light noticeably — people are often surprised how much brighter a room gets after the screens alone are washed. Worse, the next rain rinses all of that straight down onto the glass you just paid to have cleaned.
Screens are always a separate line on the estimate, never bundled into the glass price. Most customers add them in spring, when the winter grime is worst and the pollen is about to start, and skip them in autumn.
Tracks are the same story underneath. Grit collects in the channel, holds water, and grinds against the sash every time the window opens. Blowing it out with compressed air moves it around. It needs to be vacuumed, scrubbed, and wiped.

Common questions
Are screens included with window cleaning?
No — screens are priced separately from the glass. That is deliberate: you are not paying for them on a visit where you do not want them done. Add them to the quote when you book. Most customers do screens and tracks in spring and take the glass on its own in autumn.
Can you replace a torn screen?
We will flag anything torn, stretched, or with a failed spline when we take it out, and point you to the fix. Rescreening is not our core trade and we would rather tell you that than do it badly.
Why does the window get dirty again so fast if the tracks are not cleaned?
Because everything in the track is upstream of the glass. First rain, and the grit that collected in the channel runs down across a freshly cleaned pane.
